THANKS & CONGRATULATIONS
Thanks for making the 26th Fun Run such a great success. This year more than 2000 runners entered, with entries closing well before the 30 April deadline we hope we did not disappoint too many.
As usual we thank all those who helped the Lions ensure that everything went off smoothly including marshals, the Police & Specials, the St John Ambulance, all our sponsors and advertisers in the Fun Run programme and all the groups and individuals who gave up their Sunday 10th May.
Congratulations to all those who completed the Mini Run, 1 or 2 lap Fun Runs, whether you were a winner, did a PB or just got round, we hope you enjoyed it and will be back next year.
Sponsorship: Please note the deadline for banking your sponsorship is 31 July, but please don’t leave it until then. Please use our sponsorship form. If you have collected sponsorship for any other charity we need to know, so please send us the details now.
We have already exceeded our initial estimates and hope to have over £40,000 to distribute to the nominated charities (Macmillan Cancer Support, Whizz-Kidz & Campaign SightFirst ll) at the end of September. We shall be retaining 30% for local causes. If you would like to nominate something close to your heart please get in touch now.
Feedback: Thanks for your feedback - we shall consider it all when making preparations for next year. It’s not too late for any more.
Next year: Entries for the 27th Fun Run on Sunday 16th May will open on 1st January, so make a note of the dates now.
We are already taking enquiries for advertising in next year’s Fun Run programme and sponsorship of the event. If your company may be interested we would love to hear from you.
